Flora & Fauna
12 documented species across 2.325 hectares — from critically endangered endemics to ancient medicinal plants of the Costa Vicentina.
Why These Species Matter
The Costa Vicentina harbours one of Europe's richest concentrations of endemic plant species. Our 2.325-hectare property sits within the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina (PNSACV), a Natura 2000 site of exceptional botanical importance. Wild Roots documents, protects, and restores these species through science-based land management.
Each species listed here has been verified through field surveys and cross-referenced with the Portuguese Flora-On database, IUCN Red Lists, and EU Habitats Directive annexes. Our renaturation programme prioritises habitat restoration for the most threatened taxa.
Academic Partners
Our species conservation programme is built on cooperation with Portugal's leading research institutes and the Natura 2000 network.
